Overview
Broadcom is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Software Engineer to work on our mainframe platform, developing high-performance solutions using Assembler, Db2, and Python. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent computer science graduate eager to work on mission-critical software solutions in a collaborative, agile development environment.
You will partner with product management to define requirements, design software solutions, and deliver high-quality code that meets user needs and business objectives. You should be able to work both independently and within a small team, demonstrating excellent problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and a strong passion for building functional, high-quality software products.
Key Responsibilities

Design and develop high-quality software solutions and architecture.

Implement, test, debug, and optimize mainframe-based software.

Collaborate with product management and customers on requirements.

Coordinate with management and internal teams to meet project goals.

Automate processes using appropriate scripting tools.

Perform validation and verification testing to ensure product quality.

Keep software updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Knowledge of mainframe systems and proficiency in IBM Assembler.

Understanding of Db2 and relational database concepts.

Familiarity with z/OS operating systems.

Strong database design and SQL skills (schema design, queries, procedures, triggers).

Experience with source control systems and interactive debugging tools.

Exposure to DevOps and continuous integration tools.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills

Experience developing or utilizing test automation.

Strong database application design and implementation skills.

Prior exposure to agile development methodologies.
Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $60,200 – $96,300
