Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Environmental Technician to support regulatory compliance and environmental operations at our inorganic chemical processing facility. This role assists the Environmental Manager in data collection, report drafting, and permit compliance across multiple environmental domains. The position requires a proactive, adaptable candidate with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in both office and field environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly inspections including:

Visual emissions
-
Hazardous/universal waste areas
-
Pond monitoring and flow rate measurements
-
Meter testing, generator alerts, gasoline tank readings
-
Gas temperature and pressure tracking
-
CO catalyst and BCl₃ scrubber system monitoring
-

Collect and analyze environmental samples (liquid and soil).

Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste shipments offsite.

Track all waste data for quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.

Review and summarize applicable federal, state, and local environmental permit regulations.

Prepare or assist with environmental permit documents and compliance reporting.

Provide occasional support to the Safety and Security Department.

Respond to environmental concerns or emergencies, including during off-hours when needed.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field OR equivalent experience (2 years of directly related professional experience may substitute for up to 2 years of education).

Minimum of 2 years of experience in environmental compliance or regulatory roles.

Experience with inorganic chemical processing facilities preferred.
Skills & Competencies:

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

High attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them in a practical setting.

Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
Certifications & Requirements:

Valid Nevada Class C Driver’s License required at time of appointment.

Willingness to work in a facility with exposure to chemicals and variable outdoor conditions.
Working Conditions:

Primarily Monday–Friday day shifts, with occasional after-hours response required.

May work in all weather conditions and near hazardous materials (PPE provided).
