Executive Chef – Upscale Restaurant | Seattle, WA
We are currently seeking a passionate and seasoned Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of a well-established and upscale restaurant in the heart of Seattle. This is an exceptional opportunity for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment and is eager to elevate both the kitchen team and the overall dining experience.
As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of back-of-house operations, including menu execution, staff leadership, cost control, and kitchen efficiency. You will play a key role in upholding the restaurant’s strong reputation for exceptional cuisine and service while driving innovation through seasonal specials and fresh culinary ideas. The successful candidate will lead by example, fostering a positive, team-oriented culture and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and consistency.

Compensation:

Base salary of $85,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and quality across all service periods

Lead and mentor kitchen staff, fostering professional growth and a collaborative team environment

Develop and execute menus that align with the restaurant’s upscale brand while incorporating creative, seasonal offerings

Maintain strict inventory control, ensuring cost-effective purchasing and minimal waste

Oversee food safety and sanitation compliance in accordance with health department standards

Analyze and interpret financial reports (including P&Ls) to manage food and labor costs effectively

Utilize restaurant management systems for scheduling, ordering, inventory, and reporting
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

Proven experience in an Executive Chef or senior kitchen leadership role within a high-volume, upscale dining environment

Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and P&L management

Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on staff development and retention

Expertise in inventory management, food cost analysis, and vendor relationships

Proficiency in restaurant management software systems
