About the job

POLARIS TEEN CENTER is an esteemed residential treatment center serving adolescents ages 12-17. We are currently looking for an experienced Marriage and Family Therapist, Professional Clinical Counselor Psychologist or Clinical Social Worker to join our exceptional clinical team. This position is full time with health benefits. Salary is competitive. Polaris was created by a team of mental health professionals whose life’s work is to help young people and their families. Clinicians preferred for this position should have experience/ knowledge working with families and kids/teenagers. Prior residential treatment experience is preferred. This position is on-site from Monday through Friday except one week a month the schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday. Clinicians should be licensed or have at least 2000 hours as a registered associate clinician. This position is a FULL TIME salary position. Qualified applicants only please.

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate comprehensive assessment and evaluation for assigned families
  • Coordinate treatment objectives for assigned families
  • Provide group treatment and parent support group.
  • Co-facilitate monthly on-site family intensive weekends
  • Initiate discharge planning for assigned clients and updated discharge plan weekly
  • Provide family/conjoint therapy as specified in client’s treatment plans
  • Provide case management services which may include interfacing with community psychiatric hospitals, Department of Family and Children Services (DCFS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), school officials, and law enforcement and others as appropriate.
  • Facilitate ancillary services/community referrals when appropriate
  • Ensure progress notes for assigned caseload are comprehensive and complete to meet licensing standards and meet all paperwork deadlines
  • Participate in in-services trainings, individual/group supervision meetings, and any mandatory staff community meetings
  • Assist Clinical Director, Primary Therapist and Program Director with crisis intervention when necessary
  • Update outside referring professionals and care coordinators as instructed by Clinical Director

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree or higher in Psychology or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Licensed Mental Health Professional (Marriage and Family Therapist LMFT, Clinical Social Worker LCSW, Professional Clinical Counselor LPCC or Psychologist). Associates (AMFT, ACSW, APCC) must have at least 2000 hours of registered clinical hours.
  • Experience working with families in a therapeutic setting
  • Experience working in residential treatment preferred
