Job Purpose
The Field Service Representative is responsible for installing, diagnosing, and maintaining equipment, resolving customer technical issues, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
-
Travel to customer sites to install, inspect, repair, and maintain equipment, including:

Flooded & sealed batteries
-
Chargers & DC power distribution systems (battery racks, power cables, cable trays)

Provide technical support and solutions for customers.
-
Train customers and team members on equipment operation and best practices.
-
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and document findings.
-
Diagnose and repair battery charging equipment and replace defective parts.
-
Assist with battery assembly and related shop work as needed.
-
Safely handle, clean, and maintain customer batteries.
-
Operate material handling equipment per OSHA regulations.
-
Ensure timely installation and functionality of new or modified equipment.

Analyze and troubleshoot equipment issues, recommending appropriate repairs or replacements.

Collaborate with internal teams (technical support, customer service, sales) to expedite service.

Maintain detailed records of service reports and performance metrics.

Provide on-site technical guidance and customer education on product usage.

Occasionally download and analyze battery and charger data to diagnose issues.

Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment, including warehouse upkeep.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
-
1-2 years of industry-related experience or equivalent technical education and experience.
Language & Communication Skills
-
Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documents and business materials.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, managers, and teams.
Mathematical & Analytical Abilities
-
Ability to calculate discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and geometry concepts.

Capable of data analysis and drawing accurate conclusions for problem-solving.
Technical Certifications & Licenses
-
Must complete EnerSys Canada Inc. Service Representative Training within 6-12 months.

Forklift certification required.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle).

Comfortable with overnight travel as required.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Frequent travel may be required for training, customer visits, and company meetings.

Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical shock risks.

Occasionally work in wet/humid conditions, extreme temperatures, or outdoor settings.

Moderate to loud noise levels in some environments.

Must be able to:

Lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly (mechanical assistance available for heavier items).

Stand for long periods, bend, twist, reach, kneel, and crouch.

Differentiate colors for wiring and equipment identification.
-
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

On-call availability, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.

Exposure to lead/fiberglass materials—periodic blood tests required for safety monitoring.
