Are you looking for a meaningful role in public service? As a Finance Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of financial operations supporting Transport Scotland. This is a unique opportunity for a Finance Assistant to contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting while working with key internal stakeholders. You’ll help ensure responsible use of public funds while developing valuable financial and administrative skills in a fast-paced government environment.

Your Role as a Finance Assistant

As a Finance Assistant, you’ll work within the Finance and Corporate Services team to support the finance business partnering function. You’ll also collaborate with the accounts payable and financial accounting teams, playing a vital role in the financial management process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports.

  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

  • Work closely with the Finance Business Partnering Team and wider business units.

  • Foster effective working relationships with finance teams and business areas.

  • Assist in compiling data for the Annual Report, audit submissions, and financial accounts.

This position provides a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into government finance operations while developing essential professional skills.
