Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Central Manchester Hospital, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9WL
Salary: Up to £60,000 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to join our team at Central Manchester Hospital. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, advising operational management, and driving financial performance. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver management accounts, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly balance sheet reviews within strict deadlines.
- Work closely with senior site management to ensure financial accuracy across all activities, including variations, rechargeable works, and major projects.
- Ensure compliance with contractual billing mechanisms and provide accurate invoice documentation for timely payments.
- Partner with the Commercial Finance Controller and senior site management to enhance financial awareness and optimize performance within the contract framework.
- Provide financial insights and support to operational management, assisting in data-driven decision-making.
- Continuously improve financial processes to reduce administrative burden and enhance efficiency.
- Oversee financial controls related to trading accounts, stock management, and cost control.
- Foster strong working relationships with senior operations and finance teams.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Graduate calibre).
- Experience in financial management within complex service contracts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge, influence, and support stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced level preferred).
- Strong analytical skills to deliver accurate financial analysis and insights.
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on financial management.
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) or actively studying towards qualification.
- Knowledge of the Healthcare Business and Agenda for Change (AFC) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with systems such as EProphit, SAP, and Kronos is beneficial.
