About the Role
The Finance Operational Analyst II plays a key role in supporting financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and month-end closing processes. This position involves data analysis, financial modeling, and strategic insights that drive informed business decisions.
You’ll collaborate across departments to gather data, identify trends, and provide financial analysis to strengthen UNFI’s financial health and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review accurate, timely financial and business analyses, forecasts, and reports

Collect and synthesize information from multiple departments to build financial models and business insights

Create data visualizations (tables, graphs, charts) to convey insights clearly
-
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including variance and sensitivity analysis

Develop analytical and statistical reports to support key business activities
-
Lead special financial and business-related projects as needed
-
Collaborate cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements

Provide data-driven recommendations that impact profitability, margins, and other key performance metrics

Act as an internal consultant to management and stakeholders
Qualifications
Education:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
Experience:
-
3–5 years of FP&A experience

Strong foundation in financial analysis, strategic planning, and operations
Skills & Abilities:
-
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access
-
Experience with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
-
Strong business acumen and ability to communicate financial data clearly

Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and TM1 a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently

Discretion in handling confidential information

Team-oriented with a proactive, flexible attitude
Work Environment

Remote role: Work primarily from your home office; occasional travel may be required for meetings or training.

Standard office setting: long periods of computer-based work.
