Key Responsibilities of a Financial Analyst II

As a Financial Analyst II, you’ll play a vital role in driving data-based decisions and supporting Centene’s operational excellence. Your main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting quarterly forecasts and collaborating with business units for accuracy and strategic alignment.

  • Performing monthly reconciliations in OneStream People Planning (PLP) to ensure workforce plans align with forecasts.

  • Conducting payroll and labor cost analysis to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Preparing monthly financial reporting packages and assisting in the creation of Flash Reports.

  • Managing PMPM (Per Member Per Month) analysis to assess cost efficiency.

  • Reviewing Workday requisitions and managing Coupa approvals for non-labor expenses.

  • Partnering with Business Performance Management teams to analyze key financial model drivers.

  • Supporting staffing initiatives and ensuring financial compliance across departments.


Qualifications and Skills for the Financial Analyst II Role

To thrive as a Financial Analyst II, candidates should bring strong analytical, communication, and technical skills, including:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

  • Minimum 2 years of financial analysis or equivalent experience.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, SUMIFS).

  • Experience with OneStream and PeopleSoft GL inquiry is a plus.

  • Strong ability to interpret financial data and develop actionable insights.
