About the Role

West Northamptonshire Council is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Assessment Officer to join our Adult Social Care team. As a Financial Assessment Officer, you will be responsible for assessing service users’ financial contributions towards social care support, using a means-tested framework. Your role ensures fairness and transparency, while also helping service users understand their financial responsibilities.

This position offers flexible working arrangements including remote work, in-office days at Angel Square, and occasional home visits to service users, depending on caseload and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete accurate and timely financial assessments for adults receiving social care

  • Guide service users and their representatives through the assessment process

  • Ensure assessments follow all relevant legislation and local policies

  • Maintain detailed records and manage individual caseloads effectively

  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to support service delivery

  • Maximise both individual and council income through diligent assessments

  • Promote safeguarding and handle sensitive information with discretion

About You:

  • Skilled in handling data, working with spreadsheets and case management systems
