The Opportunity:
Our Accounting and Finance team in Greene, NY, is seeking a Controller to lead the financial operations of our National Accounts subsidiary. You will oversee financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely reports in compliance with GAAP.
Your Role:
- Maintain and enhance internal controls for accurate financial accounting and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and maintain necessary financial records.
- Oversee the timely month-end close process.
- Mentor and develop team members through coaching and training.
- Manage team performance with clear goals and open communication.
- Provide financial information and analysis to Corporate Finance and other stakeholders.
- Review standard and non-standard journal entries and analyze unusual balances.
- Analyze budget and forecast variances to evaluate performance.
- Develop and maintain standard work processes using Toyota Production System concepts.
- Prepare and review annual audit schedules, including inventory observation.
- Lead annual budget and forecasting processes.
- Prepare ad-hoc and pro forma financial reports for business leadership.
- Support strategic planning and goal setting with the Group Accounting Manager and VP of Finance.
Schedule:
This is a first-shift, in-office position with some flexibility. Occasional remote work may be possible after training.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years in management.
- Strong knowledge of business and accounting principles (US GAAP, SOX, IAS, IFRS).
- CPA certification (preferred).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and foster a collaborative team environment.
Total Compensation:
- Salary: $96,509 – $123,538 per year (based on experience and education).
- Relocation: May qualify for relocation assistance.
