Role Overview
The freelance Fact-Checker/Copyeditor will work with the Premium Content team to ensure all investor-focused content is accurate, high-quality, and aligns with The Motley Fool’s brand voice. The role involves fact-checking, copyediting, publishing content, and reviewing AI-generated content.
Key Responsibilities

Fact-check and copyedit content in Google Docs, maintaining the Foolish brand voice.

Use CMS systems to review, format, and publish Premium content.

Collaborate with AI teams to ensure AI-generated content is accurate and consistent.

Provide constructive feedback to improve AI-driven content solutions.

Communicate clearly with Product Operations Managers (POMs) and writers.

Follow workflow processes in Jira Software for content publishing.
Required Experience & Skills

Strong understanding of financial concepts, terminology, and global markets.

Knowledge of Foolish investing principles and brand voice.

Journalism, editing, or related experience; familiarity with AP style and journalistic ethics.

Expertise in fact-checking and validating information, data, and sources.

Strong research skills and ability to interpret financial/statistical data.

Familiarity with financial compliance and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in CMS, AI tools, and digital fact-checking technologies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

Impartial and credible in fact-checking, avoiding bias.
