Role: Financial Planning Director
Purpose of the Role
To deliver expert financial planning and investment advice across key areas to both new and existing clients of the firm.
The Exeter Financial Planning team operates as part of a regional hub, working collaboratively with offices in Bristol, Cheltenham, and Birmingham. The team consists of financial planners, paraplanners, and support staff, working closely with the wider office network and Southwest region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive financial planning and investment advice to clients.
- Manage key relationships between Investment Management and Financial Planning.
- Promote holistic financial planning services to both the business and clients.
- Advocate for Rathbones’ Wealth and Investment proposition, including Discretionary Investment Management.
- Develop and nurture strategic relationships both internally and externally to increase assets under advice and management, contributing to revenue growth.
- Build connections with accountants, solicitors, and corporate finance firms in Exeter and surrounding areas.
- Adapt to evolving role transitions towards a Wealth Planner advice model.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client relationships by leveraging Rathbones Group’s broader services.
Core Skills & Knowledge Required
- Strong technical expertise in all aspects of financial planning.
- Solid investment knowledge to support client needs effectively.
- Ability to mentor and develop fellow financial planners/wealth planners within the team.
- Chartered status (or equivalent) with full financial planning qualifications.
- Suitable for a Wealth Planner with a strong advisory background.
- Demonstrates a client-centric approach aligned with the firm’s values.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment.
- Ideally, qualified and experienced in Defined Benefit Pension Scheme transfers.
