Front End Engineer

Semper Valens Solutions, Inc. (SVS) is looking for a Front-End Developer (Mid-Level) to join our mission-driven team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Affairs (VA). As a Front-End Developer (Mid-Level), you’ll play a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing user-centric interfaces that drive innovation, usability, and security across defense software solutions. About the Front-End Developer (Mid-Level) Role

In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into intuitive front-end interfaces. You’ll leverage your expertise in UI/UX design, Agile development, and cloud technologies to craft engaging graphical user interfaces (GUIs) aligned with DoD DevSecOps standards. The Front-End Developer (Mid-Level) will take ownership of creating wireframes, mockups, and user flows to improve system navigation, operator experience, and mission effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities – Front-End Developer (Mid-Level)

• Design and develop front-end web interfaces with a focus on usability, accessibility, and performance.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and create detailed wireframes, mockups, and technical documentation.

• Implement and optimize graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to enhance user experience and system functionality.

• Conduct system testing and verification to ensure compliance with performance and security standards.

• Apply Agile methodologies and collaborate across disciplines for iterative improvements and efficient delivery.

• Utilize UX design tools like Sketch and InVision for prototyping and visual design.

• Track and resolve issues using bug-tracking platforms such as Jira.

• Work within cloud-based environments and maintain adherence to DoD security protocols.

• Support process improvement and continuous system optimization.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience with object-oriented and scripting languages.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience).

• Minimum 3 years in front-end web design and development.

• Experience in UI/UX design principles, Agile environments, and user-centric application design.

• Skilled in creating system wireframes, mockups, and technical documentation.

• Hands-on experience with Sketch, InVision, and Jira.

• Familiarity with cloud-based applications and testing web-based systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting government or defense software development projects.

• Understanding of DoD DevSecOps and cybersecurity compliance standards.
