Job Overview
The University of Massachusetts Global (UMass Global) — a private, nonprofit affiliate of the University of Massachusetts accredited by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) — is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Project and Operations Management to join the School of Business and Professional Studies.
This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track, remote position offering opportunities for content development, teaching, mentoring, and institutional service. Research is supported but not required.
UMass Global provides nationally recognized online programs designed for nontraditional learners, emphasizing flexibility, innovation, and career relevance.
Key Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Project and Operations Management.

Design, manage, and continuously improve course content.

Mentor and advise students for academic and professional success.

Support and guide adjunct faculty.

Collaborate with the Dean and colleagues to enhance program quality and meet strategic goals.

Participate in institutional service activities.
Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Project or Operations Management or a closely related discipline.

Minimum 2 years of online teaching experience in higher education.

Minimum 2 years of experience in online course development or program management.

Demonstrated success working with nontraditional adult learners.

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to academic integrity, student support, and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications

Doctoral degree (PhD or DBA) in Project or Operations Management or a related field.

Industry experience in project or operations management, preferably in a leadership capacity.

Professional certifications: PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent.

Proficiency in project management tools, agile methodologies, and data visualization software.

Experience with competency-based education or course design for online platforms.
