Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food items for the cold case, fresh pack, salad, and hot bars according to production sheets, ensuring consistency and quality.

  • Follow recipes to guarantee the proper preparation and presentation of food items.

  • Label, date, cover, and monitor prepared items for quality, freshness, and proper rotation.

  • Monitor food levels and promptly replenish as necessary.

  • Arrive on time, appropriately groomed, dressed, and ready to work; complete all scheduled shifts and attend required training and meetings.

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively, using suggestive selling techniques, and answering phones courteously.

  • Maximize sales potential through effective prep, storage, rotation, stocking, and merchandising.

  • Adhere to established procedures, including those for Weights and Measures, health, sanitation, and safe work practices.

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary working and shopping environment, keeping equipment in line with WFM cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring walk-ins and freezers are organized.

  • Complete opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing.

  • Report safety hazards and violations immediately.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Desired Work Experience:

  • 6-12 months of retail experience.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Stand or walk for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour workday.

  • Perform hand movements such as grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.

  • Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.

  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.

  • Work in temperatures as low as <32°F (freezing) and as high as >90°F, with refrigeration temperatures between 32-40°F.

  • Ability to work in both wet and dry conditions.

  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

  • May require the use of ladders.
