Essential Duties:
This position operates under the general supervision of the Parks and Recreation Director. The primary responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service and acting as the first point of contact for the public, both in-person and over the phone. The role involves planning, organizing, scheduling, and leading various recreational programs such as league sports, clinics, camps, activities, and special events. The individual will also manage game schedules, facilities, officials, and seasonal staff for these programs.
In addition, the role includes creating operational budgets for specific programs and preparing summary reports. The position requires participation in planning new department activities and programs, and the creation and collaboration of various recreational initiatives. The incumbent will evaluate ongoing programs, work events, and suggest areas for improvement. Supervising programming support staff, referees, and volunteers is also a key responsibility. The role involves assisting in the recruitment and scheduling of volunteers for programs and special events.
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in youth and adult programming.

A valid driver’s license.

CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or willingness to obtain.

Comprehensive knowledge of sports rules and relevant procedures.

Proficiency in modern office practices and software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and/or Microsoft 365.

Experience working with children, whether as an instructor, coach, or mentor.
