We are seeking a motivated Generic Worker to join the Stowmarket Integrated Neighbourhood Team on a full-time, fixed-term basis until 31st January 2026. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone passionate about delivering high-quality community care. As a Generic Worker, you’ll play a vital role supporting nurses, therapists, and social care professionals in providing holistic care to patients in their homes and clinic settings. While previous community service experience is an advantage, full training will be provided. What Does a Generic Worker Do?
As a Generic Worker, your role involves:

Assisting with wound care, diabetes support, end-of-life care, and rehabilitation at patients’ homes

Supporting hospital discharge and preventing unnecessary admissions

Promoting independence through exercises and equipment provision

Participating in holistic assessments, respecting patient choice
-
Working closely with clinicians across disciplines including nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry, and mental health
Essential Responsibilities of a Generic Worker
Day-to-Day Duties and Expectations

Provide hands-on care under supervision from clinicians across multiple specialties

Maintain high standards of patient care and accurate documentation

Travel to patient homes, clinics, and local care settings (own vehicle required initially; lease car scheme may be available)

Assist in all aspects of care planning and delivery

Ensure care is person-centred, timely, and responsive to each patient’s needs
