The German School of Fremont is a non-profit educational organization founded by a German Immigrant couple in 1963. Our mission is to teach the German language to interested students of all ages and backgrounds through a variety of instructional methods. We are offering Saturday language classes leading to the German Language Diploma (Deutsches Sprach Diplom) – a language prerequisite to study at universities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Children and adult classes are designed for various levels. We also offer a Parent & Me class that is enjoyed by our youngest students (18 month – 3 years old) and their parents. Our goal is to provide a community to everyone who loves or wants to learn the German language.

Overview

Are you passionate about teaching German? We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to join our team at the German School of Fremont for our Saturday in-person classes in Fremont. This is a part-time on-site role for a German Teacher located in Fremont, CA. As a Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds of students and fostering their academic growth and development.

Responsibilities

– Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in accordance with the curriculum with the help of the Head Teacher

– Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students

– Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

– Utilize various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles

– Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance, grades, and behavior

Skills

– Excellent oral and written communication skills in German (native-level fluency)

– Be enthusiastic about teaching German – Credentialed preschool, kindergarten or elementary/secondary school teachers are preferred but not required

– Patience and adaptability in working with diverse student populations and different ages

– Organizational skills to manage lesson planning effectively

– Ability to inspire and motivate students towards academic excellence
