This newly created position is key to ensuring smooth global trade operations and full compliance across our supply chain.  What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Oversee Global Customs Operations: Ensure import/export documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance across all key markets (UK, EU, US).

• Tariff Classification & HS Codes: Assign, validate, and maintain accurate classifications for all products in line with global customs standards.

• Valuation & Origin Compliance: Ensure correct duty valuations and country-of-origin declarations for efficient duty payments and eligibility for preferential tariffs.

• Policy Monitoring & Process Updates: Track regulatory changes and update internal procedures accordingly, communicating impacts across departments.

• Customs Warehousing & Special Procedures: Manage compliance and documentation for special customs regimes, maintaining proper records and reconciliations.

• Liaison with Customs Authorities & Brokers: Be the primary point of contact for external customs stakeholders, resolving issues swiftly.

• Audit & Risk Management: Lead internal and external audits, identifying compliance gaps and opportunities for operational improvement.

• Training & Advisory: Educate internal teams on customs procedures, changes, and documentation requirements.

• System Optimization: Support the implementation of customs compliance tools and automated solutions for classification, origin tracking, and duty calculations.

 What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 5 years of experience in global customs or international trade compliance, ideally within the retail or consumer goods sector.

• Strong expertise in HS classification, customs valuation, duty calculation, and preferential trade agreements.

• Knowledge of UK, EU, and US customs frameworks.

• Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.

• Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and work independently.

• Relevant qualification or certification in Customs Compliance or International Trade (preferred).
