Job Summary

Rogers Group is seeking an experienced Grading Foreman for the North Alabama Operations area. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership in safety, quality, and productivity while overseeing grading and utility installation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and document grading and utility installation activities.

  • Train personnel in grade setting, equipment operation, and excavation practices.

  • Lead safety meetings, enforce OSHA and company safety standards, and complete JSAs.

  • Supervise field employees in site, road, and subdivision construction (excavation, filling, compaction, utilities).

  • Review blueprints, coordinate with surveyors/engineers, and inspect sites for safety.

  • Manage erosion control devices, sediment regulations, and compliance.

  • Monitor scheduling conflicts and report deficiencies.

  • Evaluate crew performance, address issues, and provide coaching.

  • Oversee equipment/vehicle use and maintenance, troubleshoot issues with mechanics/vendors.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years supervisory experience in grading operations.

  • 3+ years of heavy construction equipment operation required.

  • Ability to read/interpret grade stakes, drawings, and job specifications.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.

  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required.

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather, weekends, and extended hours.
