Job Description
A Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality, consistent meals in accordance with recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and sanitized work area, and ensuring impeccable food presentation and garnishing. This role plays a key part in exceeding guest expectations and fostering repeat business.
Responsibilities

Set up stations and collect mise en place for service.

Weigh, measure, and prepare ingredients for cooking.

Cook meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold food items.

Prepare sauces and garnishes for assigned station.

Store, cover, and date food items per safe food-handling procedures.

Monitor food shortages and inform the chef.

Ensure correct food temperatures and taste quality before service.

Operate food prep tools per manufacturer instructions.

Follow closing checklists for kitchen stations.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Practice safe, hygienic food handling at all times.

Sanitize refrigerators, storerooms, and equipment.

Assist with deliveries, ordering, and record-keeping.

Report maintenance needs or faulty equipment.

Collaborate with team members to maintain excellent kitchen operations.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent vocational training.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently.

Reliable, punctual, and professional.

Food safety training/certification as required by law.

Able to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for extended periods.
