Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and follow construction drawings and site documentation accurately

  • Confidently set up and use trench boxes, drag boxes, and manhole boxes

  • Install and align concrete, clay, and plastic pipes of all sizes with appropriate bedding and testing

  • Set up and operate pipe lasers for precise measurements

  • Manage groundwater effectively, selecting the appropriate pump for site conditions

  • Perform backfilling of trenches and benching of manholes to high standards

  • Carry out hard and soft landscaping including kerbing, edgings, slab laying, and block paving

  • Demonstrate safety and care around live services with proper avoidance techniques

  • Conduct pre-start safety checks on plant and machinery and report service requirements to site managers

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5–10+ years’ experience in skilled groundworks

  • Experience in working as part of a team or gang

  • CPCS or NPORS tickets for plant (Telehandlers, Dumpers, Rollers) highly desirable

  • Strong understanding of underground drainage systems and materials

  • Proven ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced site environment
