Barfection is recruiting on behalf of a vibrant world food restaurant in Blackpool, seeking an experienced and hands-on Head Chef to lead a high-energy kitchen. With a focus on global cuisine—particularly Asian and Indian influences—this role offers excellent earning potential and a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, rotas, and admin.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse kitchen team in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- Ensure consistent high-quality food presentation across a global menu.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency standards.
- Manage kitchen costs, including labour and wastage, while meeting KPIs.
- Represent the kitchen in a live, open cooking environment.
- Collaborate with management to enhance kitchen systems and efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in high-volume settings.
- Strong background in Asian or world cuisine, particularly with Asian/Indian influences.
- Comfortable working in live/open kitchens with direct customer interaction.
- Excellent leadership skills, with experience managing a diverse, multicultural team.
- Strong organisational skills and experience managing rotas and kitchen paperwork.
- KPI-driven mindset with an understanding of kitchen performance metrics.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40-hour contract across 5 days (Monday–Sunday rotation).
- No lunch service Monday–Friday.
- Option to work 6 days if preferred.
