Head of Dementia Care

Salary: £33,500 per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week

About the Role

As Head of Dementia Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive the highest quality person-centered dementia care. Your expertise, compassion, and leadership will be central to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for those living with dementia.

Working closely with the home management team, you will oversee the dementia households, ensuring best practices are followed and that staff are confident, competent, and well-supported across all shifts. You will also collaborate with residents, families, Admiral Nurses, and external agencies to implement personalised care plans that promote independence, well-being, and quality of life.

About the Home

Wellford Gardens is a modern, three-storey care home with 65 bedrooms, providing 24-hour residential and dementia care. The home features innovative technology, including E-care systems, to ensure the highest standards of personalised, resident-focused care.

About You

  • Qualifications: QCF Level 3 in Dementia Care (or equivalent), with a willingness to work towards a Level 3 Certificate in Team Leadership.
  • Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing a team in a dementia care setting.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support your team.
  • Attributes: A positive role model who can work autonomously and under pressure, always prioritising the well-being of residents.
