 Key Responsibilities of a Health Care Assistant

As a Health Care Assistant at St Leonard’s Hospice, your role will include:

  • Patient Support: Spend several hours supporting the patient, engaging in activities like playing cards, watching TV, or simply chatting.

  • Hands-On Care: Provide personal care to patients when needed, ensuring comfort and dignity.

  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear and empathetic communication with patients, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Accurate Record-Keeping: Ensure detailed and accurate care records are maintained to provide continuous care.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the hospice team to ensure that patients’ and families’ needs are met with compassion.
