Summary:
The 32BJ Health Fund is seeking a Health Data Analyst to play a key role in analyzing complex data sets that inform business decisions and drive strategic initiatives. You will collaborate with various departments to identify trends, generate reports, and deliver actionable insights, primarily focusing on claims data. A passion for working with both structured and unstructured data, adaptability in ambiguous situations, and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Health Fund’s mission to improve the lives of 32BJ members.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to support decision-making.

  • Apply statistical techniques to detect trends, patterns, and anomalies in data.

  • Develop and present reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate insights to stakeholders.

  • Partner with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to understand data needs and provide analytical support.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Fund’s vendors and partners to enhance patient care.

  • Design and implement data collection processes and tools.

  • Keep current with industry best practices, tools, and technologies in data analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in programming with healthcare claims or healthcare industry data.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, and visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with comfort working on unstructured data.

  • Excellent writing and presentation skills, capable of translating complex analysis into clear language and visuals.

  • Curious and proactive in investigating outlier data points and clarifying unclear results.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
