About the job
This position will support our FP&A team within Finance. Prior experience in FP&A within Health Insurance/Managed Care is highly preferred.
Job Summary:
The Financial Planning Analyst IV will be responsible for developing pricing strategies and conducting financial analysis related to administrative expenses for new business opportunities, mergers, and acquisitions (M&A), as well as through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support decision-making related to administrative costs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of managed care and healthcare pricing models, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain new business proforma pricing models, ensuring all financial inputs are accurate and well-documented.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather, validate and challenge necessary staffing and vendor spend needs ensuring assumptions are in conformance with Company policies or other contractual commitments.
- Collaborate with M&A teams to evaluate financial aspects of potential transactions, including assessing pricing structures, cost synergies, and profitability.
- Analyze the financial implications of integrating new business through M&A, ensuring alignment with company goals and pricing guidelines.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and long-term financial forecasts related to pricing strategies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations in all pricing-related activities.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports that clearly communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Perform any other job duties as requested.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Business related post-graduate degree is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience
- Six (6) years of related experience in finance is required
- Managed Care or healthcare experience is preferred
Competencies, Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and data analysis tools.
- Solid understanding of M&A processes, financial due diligence, and pricing strategies.
- Experience with RFP processes and pricing for managed care.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiar with a variety of financial concepts, practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently
- Detail oriented
- Intermediate proficiency level with Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of relational database software and/or business intelligence (BI) tools is preferred but not required.
Licensure and Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, or related certification is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- May be required to travel occasionally
