Job Summary
UCHealth is seeking a Patient Billing Specialist to join our Professional Billing team at the Harmony Campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. In this role, you will prepare, review, and submit patient account billing while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. This position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with experience in medical billing or denial management.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare patient bills in paper and/or electronic formats based on departmental and payor requirements.

Review claims for accuracy, ensuring correct diagnosis and procedure codes.

Resolve billing rejections and collaborate with internal teams and payors.

Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing and account activity.

Document billing activities and maintain daily reconciliation records.

Generate routine billing reports to track accuracy and timeliness.

Refer unpaid balances to collections/accounts receivable teams.

Apply critical thinking and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED (required).

Experience:

Preferred: 6–12 months of medical denials and professional billing follow-up experience.

Knowledge of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement processes.
