Healthcare Billing Manager – Remote

Position Overview

The Healthcare Billing Account Manager will oversee all aspects of medical billing accounts, including charge entry, payment posting, AR follow-up, and patient statements. This role manages a team of billing leads, ensures workflows are accurate and timely, and serves as the primary client contact. You will also support account onboarding, training, workflow standardization, and payer portal management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of 3–5 Billing Leads.

  • Manage billing processes: charge entry, payment posting, AR follow-up, and patient billing.

  • Onboard new accounts, create training plans, and implement standardized workflows.

  • Set up and maintain payer portal logins for team access.

  • Define and monitor KPIs (charges, payments, AR, denials, rejections).

  • Serve as the primary contact for physicians and office managers.

  • Escalate account issues to leadership (VP of RCM & COO).

  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years hands-on medical billing and coding.

  • 3+ years management experience in healthcare billing (Pain Management preferred).

  • EHR software and clearinghouse setup experience required.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

  • Professional and confident phone communication.

  • Experience with EHR systems such as DrChrono, AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks.
