We are currently hiring a Healthcare Support Worker to be based at Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice in Conwy. This is a full-time, permanent position with a 12.5-hour shift pattern, covering both days and nights. In return, we offer a competitive salary ranging from £23,327 to £25,706 per annum, depending on experience.

Responsibilities of a Healthcare Support Worker

  • Deliver high-quality care in accordance with each child’s individual care plan, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Act as a key worker by supporting families, advocating for them, and connecting them with essential services within their community.
  • Engage children in play, recreational, and learning activities alongside play leaders to create meaningful experiences.
  • Assist in the administration and monitoring of medicines under the supervision of registered nurses while undergoing appropriate training.
  • Provide holistic, end-of-life care with dignity, privacy, and compassion, ensuring that children and families receive the support they need.

What We’re Looking For in a Healthcare Support Worker

  • Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly working with children, young people, or individuals with complex needs.
  • Compassion, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to prioritize patient-centered care.
  • A willingness to undertake QCF/NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care/Childcare training (if not already qualified).
  • The ability to work flexibly across shifts, including evenings, weekends, and some nights.
