About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Equipment Operator to join our team full-time from mid-April through November (with potential for extended work). This union position (Operating Engineer #49) requires periodic travel and offers the opportunity to work on impactful construction projects in a dynamic environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate various heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, loaders, rollers, graders, and excavators.

  • Excavate, move, and place dirt or materials according to project requirements.

  • Control and maneuver equipment using handwheels, pedals, levers, and attachments (buckets, blades, scrapers, swing booms, etc.).

  • Perform routine equipment maintenance including cleaning, greasing, and oiling.

  • Read and interpret blueprints to guide operations.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards.

  • Assist with additional tasks as needed to support project completion.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable heavy equipment operating experience.

  • Strong knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.

  • Ability to judge distances, slopes, and operate machinery with precision.

  • CDL preferred but not required.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Must work safely in all environments, weather conditions, and seasons.

  • Medium-duty work involving lifting, climbing, crouching, stooping, bending, and repetitive motions.

  • Requires full use of hands, arms, legs, and excellent eye-hand coordination.

  • Good eyesight (natural or corrected) and color recognition are essential.

  • Regular, timely attendance and adherence to company operating hours.

  • This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a drug test prior to employment.
