Job Overview

Stride, Inc., in partnership with New Mexico Destination Career Academy (NMDCA), is seeking a dedicated Remote CTE Health Science Teacher. The position involves teaching online health science courses to middle and high school students through an engaging, interactive, and student-centered virtual classroom.

The teacher will design and deliver lessons that foster academic growth and career readiness while supporting students’ individual goals and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous instruction to students in health science courses.

  • Differentiate instruction based on mastery levels and personalize learning experiences.

  • Maintain accurate grades and monitor academic integrity.

  • Prepare students for standardized and certification assessments.

  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and learning coaches to ensure success.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional learning communities.

  • Support career readiness programs by advising Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) and developing industry partnerships.

  • Assist students with career planning tools such as Career Builder or Career Cruising.

  • Uphold NMDCA’s mission of data-driven, individualized education.

  • Travel occasionally (up to 20%) for testing, professional development, or in-person events.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Active New Mexico teaching license with Health Science endorsement.

  • Ability to clear a federal and state background check.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Two or more years of teaching experience, ideally in CTE or Health Science.

  • Experience with online learning platforms or virtual instruction.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong collaboration, adaptability, and communication skills.

  • Experience working with diverse learners and supporting parents in online education.

Work Environment

  • Fully remote position (home-based).

  • Standard working hours: 9 AM–5 PM or as defined by the school.

  • Must maintain a professional, distraction-free home office setup.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $55,000–$75,000 annually (based on education, experience, and location).
