About the Role
Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA), a Stride K12 partner school, is seeking a High School Reading Teacher to deliver engaging online instruction, support student success, and collaborate closely with families. This full-time role requires a certified, highly qualified educator who can personalize learning, monitor student progress, and prepare students for standardized testing in a virtual environment.
Teachers typically work from home but may travel monthly (approximately 20% of the time) for professional development, student testing, or school functions.
Essential Responsibilities

Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous instruction

Personalize learning based on individual student needs

Maintain positive communication with students and families

Support parents/learning coaches with curriculum and instructional issues

Monitor student performance, update gradebooks, and uphold academic integrity

Prepare students for standardized assessments

Collaborate with staff to interpret and apply student performance data

Travel for professional development, testing, and school events as needed
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree

Active Arkansas teaching certification in High School Reading

Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching high school students

Familiarity with online teaching or learning platforms

Strong technology skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience supporting parents/learning coaches in a virtual classroom
