Position Overview
Texas Virtual Academy of Hallsville (TVAH), a Stride K12 partner school, is seeking a remote High School Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate is a passionate, state-certified educator committed to providing engaging online instruction while supporting students’ individual needs. Teachers will deliver content through synchronous and asynchronous learning, monitor progress, and collaborate closely with students, parents, and learning coaches to ensure academic success.
Key Responsibilities

Provide rich, engaging online learning experiences for high school students.

Personalize instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure mastery.

Align teaching with curriculum guidelines, policies, and compliance requirements.

Maintain accurate grade books, monitor performance, and communicate progress to families.

Support parents/learning coaches with instructional and technical guidance.

Prepare students for standardized tests and high academic expectations.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and testing events (travel required).

Uphold positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Active Texas teaching certification in Social Studies (Grades 8–12).

Ability to pass a background check.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
Desired Qualifications:

Experience teaching high school students in virtual or in-person settings.

Experience supporting families in online learning environments.

Familiarity with online education platforms and digital instruction methods.
