The Opportunity

At Mastery, we believe that every student deserves access to a high-quality education—and that includes our diverse learners. Nearly a quarter of Mastery students have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) designed to provide tailored educational opportunities. We view IEPs as a collaborative tool, bringing together teachers, parents, school administrators, case managers, related service providers, central office staff, and, when appropriate, students themselves to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Mastery is committed to expanding the potential of students with disabilities by implementing research-based interventions, continuously monitoring progress, and making data-driven adjustments to ensure success. Our Specialized Services Program offers a range of supports, from itinerant to supplemental, always prioritizing the inclusion of diverse learners in general education settings. Self-contained classrooms are utilized only when necessary, and we maintain low teacher-to-student ratios to provide high-quality support. Across our network, we offer specialized classrooms for Autism Support, Emotional Support, Life Skills, Multiple Disability Support, and Multi-Lingual Learner Support.

We also take pride in our robust Response to Intervention (RTI) program and provide a strong foundation in research-based curricula across K-12. Our interventions include:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set high academic and personal growth expectations for all students

  • Implement rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans, assignments, and assessments in collaboration with school leadership and curriculum specialists

  • Utilize student assessment data to measure progress and adjust instruction accordingly

  • Work closely with grade-level teams to analyze student work, share best practices, and create a joyful, engaging classroom culture

  • Maintain strong relationships with families, keeping them actively involved in their child’s education through regular communication

  • Approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset and demonstrate resilience in problem-solving

  • Commit to continuous learning, self-reflection, and responsiveness to feedback

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a track record of personal, professional, or academic achievement

  • Teacher certification (completed or in progress)

  • Subject-area expertise and strong instructional skills

  • Ability to leverage data to drive student achievement

  • Passion for working with underserved communities

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions, including:

    • Traveling between campuses as needed

    • Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods

    • Speaking clearly and projecting voice

    • Using classroom tools such as chalkboards, dry erase boards, projectors, and computers

    • Completing administrative tasks like typing, filing, scanning, faxing, and making phone calls

    • Spending up to two hours at a time working on a computer
