Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Pharmacist to support Correctional Health Services in New York City. This is a full-time, 14-week assignment ideal for professionals who are dependable, adaptable, and committed to ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical care within a correctional health setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.

  • Manage inventory and handle warehouse-related pharmaceutical processes, including proper storage and distribution.

  • Ensure compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) and related documentation protocols.

  • Operate pharmacy dispensing systems efficiently to support daily pharmaceutical operations.

  • Participate in sterile compounding procedures and maintain standards in the IV room to ensure safety and sterility.

  • Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient medication management (experience with EMRs is preferred but not required).


Qualifications:

  • Active and valid Pharmacist license issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) — Primary Source Verification is required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy experience, preferably in institutional or correctional health environments.

  • Demonstrated experience with:

    • Warehouse operations related to pharmaceutical supplies.

    • DSCSA compliance procedures.

    • Pharmacy dispensing systems and technologies.

    • Sterile processing and IV preparation.

    • EMR systems (preferred but not mandatory).
