Position Overview: PRN Pharmacist – Stephens County Hospital

PharmD on Demand is currently seeking a highly skilled and dependable PRN (as-needed) Pharmacist to support our team at Stephens County Hospital. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, collaborative professional with strong communication and problem-solving abilities. As a PRN pharmacist, you will be instrumental in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient medication use, while contributing to a culture of clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all legal, ethical, and regulatory obligations related to the preparation, distribution, and dispensing of medications.

  • Interpret and verify physicians’ medication orders to ensure accuracy and patient safety.

  • Prepare and compound prescription medications, ensuring adherence to compounding standards and hospital protocols.

  • Manage and operate pharmaceutical equipment, including automated dispensing systems, Laminar Flow Hoods, and compounding tools.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations, as well as internal policies established by Stephens County Hospital and PharmD on Demand.

  • Provide expert consultation and medication counseling to healthcare providers and patients when needed.

  • Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical conduct and professional behavior.

  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in all aspects of pharmacy operations and decision-making.

  • Maintain effective, respectful communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Consistently represent the hospital and PharmD on Demand with professionalism, integrity, and a service-oriented attitude.

  • Prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to support safe and effective pharmacy workflow.


Qualifications and Licensure Requirements

  • Must possess a current and valid pharmacist license in the state of Georgia (or applicable state of practice).

  • Experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting is preferred, but not required.


Schedule Details

  • Required availability: One weekend per month

  • Additional shifts may become available based on facility needs and candidate availability.

Compensation

  • Estimated base pay range: $119,000 – $141,000 per year (based on full-time equivalent), as projected by Glassdoor.

  • Median annual pay estimate: $129,000/year
