About the Role:
As a Housing Management Worker within our Women’s Services team in York, you will provide essential support to women experiencing homelessness and multiple unmet needs, including domestic abuse, substance use, exploitation, and offending behavior.
This role is crucial in ensuring women have access to safe accommodation, emotional support, and practical guidance, empowering them to overcome their challenges and achieve independent living.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide emotional and practical support to women in safe accommodation.

Support women in stabilizing their situations, accessing services, and achieving independence.

Collaborate with colleagues at York Women’s Centre and partner agencies to ensure comprehensive support.

Assist with housing management tasks, including tenancy support and addressing housing-related issues.

Maintain accurate records and documentation to track support progress.

Uphold the values and ethos of Changing Lives, ensuring that women’s preferences and concerns are heard and respected.
Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience in a support, social care, or housing role is desirable.

Understanding of the challenges faced by women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, or exploitation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
