Job Opportunity: Staff Services Manager I

About the Role

The Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented leader to join our Human Resources Office management team as a Staff Services Manager I (Supervisor). This role is essential in overseeing Position Control and Human Resources Administrative Services Units, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, the Staff Services Manager I will:

  • Supervise and support staff responsible for administrative and analytical HR functions.
  • Oversee position control, report generation, and compliance with the State Controller’s Office.
  • Manage contracts, procurement, training records, and inventory controls for the Human Resources Office.
  • Coordinate and maintain the employee Pull Notice Program.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of HR-related administrative tasks.

Location & Working Conditions

  • Current Office: 2180 Harvard Street, Sacramento, CA 95815
  • Relocation in December 2025: New Labor Agency Building, 1416 9th Street, Downtown Sacramento
  • Work in an air-conditioned, low-rise office with both natural and artificial lighting.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods and occasional travel.
