Position Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our HR team at our corporate offices in Chicago. This hybrid role reports to the office three days per week and contributes to AMA’s success by delivering HR services that enhance workforce capability, employee engagement, and business performance. The HR Manager will lead HR initiatives across talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, recruitment, and retention.
Key Responsibilities
HR Generalist:

Develop, implement, and deploy HR initiatives, projects, and equitable solutions.

Act as an HR subject matter expert, providing solutions to complex issues with minimal supervision.

Provide recommendations on staffing, organizational design, productivity, and employee engagement.

Manage compliance with employment laws, policies, and internal audits.

Analyze HR data trends using Power BI and other sources and communicate actionable insights.
Employee Relations:

Manage simple to complex employee relations and performance issues.

Conduct thorough investigations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in line with legal and industry standards, partnering with the Office of the General Counsel as needed.

Handle ADA accommodations, leaves, and benefit-related inquiries in collaboration with the benefits team.

Proactively identify risks and provide guidance to mitigate issues.

Provide coaching and recommendations to managers and employees on HR matters.
Internal Collaboration:

Partner with HR team members to deliver HR services efficiently.

Address training, DEI issues, compensation, pay, benefits, onboarding, and recruiting needs.

Support HR Director and HR Business Partners in investigations, documentation, and projects.
Additional Responsibilities:

Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field.

Minimum of 5+ years of HR experience.

Exceptional writing, communication, and consulting skills.

Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment/labor laws.

Proven ability to investigate and document complex employee relations cases.

Strong skills in navigating complex organizational dynamics and stakeholder relationships.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues professionally.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $100,000 – $127,000
