Position Overview

The HR Operations Manager at MIT Sloan is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable HR processes to optimize core operations such as onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and employment lifecycle events. This role manages the Performance Management and Annual Salary Review (ASR) processes in partnership with HR Business Partners, supports ERP system planning and integration, and leads school-wide HR initiatives, including digital automation and generative AI projects.

The HR Operations Manager leverages data analytics to inform strategy, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement across the organization. The role also mentors and trains team members, develops and manages departmental budgets, and interprets complex HR policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and optimize HR operational processes, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and employment lifecycle events.

  • Manage Performance Management and Annual Salary Review processes in collaboration with HR Business Partners.

  • Serve as a key stakeholder in ERP system planning, coordination, and integration.

  • Drive HR transformation projects, digital automation initiatives, and HR system design and implementation.

  • Develop and implement a data-driven HR strategy using analytics and key metrics.

  • Mentor and train team members to support adoption of new tools and technologies.

  • Manage departmental budgets in alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Advise on complex HR issues, policies, and procedures.

  • Collaborate on strategic change initiatives and communication efforts across Sloan.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources or Operations Management.

  • Strong consultative skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data modeling.

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

  • Experience with Service Management systems (ServiceNow preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR Operations or HRIS role.
