Position Summary:
The primary role of the Human Resources and Labour Relations Specialist is to foster positive relationships between management and employees, while ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations.This role is responsible for various HR functions including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, HR projects, and labour negotiations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- :Act as a mediator between employees and management to resolve conflicts and disputes
- .Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and morale
- .Conduct investigations into employee grievances and recommend appropriate actions
- .Provide guidance to managers and employees on performance improvement plans
- .Coordinate and/or facilitate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and competencies
- .Serve as the primary contact for labour unions and participate in collective bargaining negotiations
- .Interpret collective agreements and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- .Address labour disputes and grievances in accordance with established procedures
- .Take responsibility for various HR projects from idea through to execution
- .Stay abreast of federal and provincial labour laws and regulations
- .Ensure HR policies and practices are in compliance with applicable legal requirements
- .Other job-related duties as assigned
