Are you an organized, detail-oriented HR professional who thrives in a collaborative environment? The Clermont County Public Library is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support key HR operations and help create a positive employee experience from recruitment through retirement.

About the Role

As a Human Resources Specialist, you’ll serve as a vital member of the administrative team, providing operational and administrative support across a range of HR functions. From coordinating onboarding to managing employee records and supporting wellness initiatives, you’ll help ensure smooth internal operations while being a visible and approachable resource for employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate job postings, recruitment logistics, and onboarding processes.

  • Maintain confidential and accurate personnel records; ensure compliance with employment laws.

  • Prepare internal HR communications and onboarding materials.

  • Assist with benefits tracking and employee inquiries.

  • Schedule and document employee training sessions.

  • Answer HR-related questions with professionalism and discretion.

  • Collaborate with departments and branches to support consistent HR workflows.

  • Maintain HRIS and file systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.

  • Uphold a positive, inclusive workplace through integrity and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 2 years of HR experience; public or union sector experience is a plus.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HR software systems (e.g., HRIS/ATS).

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Commitment to confidentiality and service excellence.

  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends and provide own transportation.
