Position Overview: Information Governance Analyst
Jenner & Block is seeking an Information Governance Analyst to play a crucial role in supporting our Information Governance Department and the firm’s overall information governance strategy. This position is vital for managing the entire lifecycle of the firm’s information, ensuring secure disposition of client and business administrative records, and ultimately reducing risk for both the firm and its clients. Using industry-standard methodologies and best-in-class information governance technology, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operations and contribute significantly to the success of all related initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the maintenance and analysis of the records management system to ensure data integrity of the firm’s hardcopy file inventory.
- Supporting the entry and creation of hardcopy file inventory within the records management system.
- Preparing hardcopy files for off-site archiving and submitting service requests via the offsite storage vendor portal.
- Assisting with the management of the firm’s electronic file inventory and supporting IG Network File Share Management.
- Aiding in the implementation of the firm’s retention schedule, including file reviews and assigning appropriate disposition for eligible files based on policy.
- Assisting with all aspects of the firm’s digital file conversion process, including review, preparation, scanning, and importing into the document management system.
- Supporting department project management as assigned.
- Assisting with all outbound file transfer processes, including searches, collection, reviews, and secure transfer for both hardcopy and electronic files.
- Assisting with all inbound file transfer processes, including file reviews, indexing, and secure import for both hardcopy and electronic files.
Experience & Education:
- Candidates with an educational background in library science, information technology, information or records management, or other related fields are preferred. An undergraduate degree from an accredited four-year institution is also preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- A minimum of two years of records management and/or information governance experience in a legal environment is required.
- Demonstrated experience with Records Management Systems, with a preference for candidates knowledgeable in FileTrail.
- Demonstrated experience with Document Management Systems, with a preference for candidates knowledgeable in NetDocuments in a legal setting.
- Proven experience in electronic file management.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio).
- The ability to lift 50 lbs.

Compensation Package:
Jenner & Block offers a competitive total rewards package, including comprehensive health & well-being benefits and 401k profit sharing. The anticipated pay range for this role in Chicago is $50,000 to $60,000.
