About the Role:

Purple Jay is seeking a motivated Information Security Analyst with a blend of technical expertise, cyber risk consulting skills, and project delivery experience to support enterprise security initiatives. You will contribute to improving organizational security posture, mitigating threats, ensuring compliance, and enhancing efficiency within our cross-functional teams. A current Public Trust clearance is preferred. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who excels in collaborative environments and can integrate strategic and tactical thinking to achieve results.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality cyber risk consulting reports and analytical project deliverables.
  • Analyze cybersecurity data to assess risks, identify threats, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Support Authorization and Assessment (A&A) activities, including security control reviews.
  • Assist in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Monitor security incidents and continuous monitoring data to track and report risk.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend remediation strategies for vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze system security risks and collaborate on mitigation plans.
  • Support cyber risk engagements across Strategy, Defense, Response; Infrastructure Security; Identity and Access Management; Data Protection; and Application Security.
  • Prepare written reports on risk findings, remediation plans, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams on security control effectiveness and compliance.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of information security principles and security compliance frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, cloud technologies, and operating systems (Linux, Windows).
  • Experience with security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners).
  • Basic knowledge of threat intelligence and threat hunting.
  • Ability to analyze security incidents and recommend improvements.
  • Familiarity with risk management and mitigation strategies, VPNs, network segmentation, endpoint protection, encryption, and DLP.
  • Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) are a plus.
