Cybersecurity Engineer – GDIT | MacDill AFB, FL

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to support enterprise-level security initiatives. You will assess, design, and implement security measures for complex systems, ensuring compliance with U.S. BICES program requirements and DoD standards. This is an onsite role at MacDill AFB, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning:

Evaluate systems for compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Project Managers, SMEs) to align security goals.

Support all engineering review phases (KO, SRR, PDR, etc.).

Validate security designs and recommend improvements.

Create Security Impact Analyses (SIA) and support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.

Analyze security requirements using tools like STIG Viewer, SCAP, eMASS, Trellix, etc.

Provide input on enterprise security standards and new tech impact assessments.
Operational Management:

Serve as a security liaison between GDIT and customers.

Conduct audits, threat assessments, and manage system authorizations.

Advise on physical security, disaster recovery, and policy development.

Support change management and vulnerability assessments.

Train cybersecurity personnel and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
-
10+ years IT experience with 5+ years in Cyber Assurance.

In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity tools, SIEM platforms, firewalls, DLP, IDS/IPS, encryption.

Experience with DoD RMF, eMASS/Xacta, and DISA STIGs.

Meets DoD 8750 IAM Level II requirements; must obtain ITIL v4 within 6 months.

Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

CISSP certification.

Experience with virtualization (VMware, Citrix), DevOps, and network/cloud infrastructure.

Familiarity with firewall rule sets and modern deployment methods (IaC, CI/CD).

Work Location: Onsite at MacDill AFB, FL.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week.

Salary Range: $96,034 – $128,800 (dependent on experience, location, contract).
