Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee vulnerability scanning processes and tools to identify and address security gaps across network-connected systems.

  • Maintain and enhance vulnerability management tools while collaborating closely with Engineering and Operations teams to drive remediation efforts.

  • Support the ISSM in developing and maintaining system documentation and security authorizations in accordance with regulatory and mission requirements.

  • Apply NIST Continuous Monitoring standards and RMF controls to manage system vulnerabilities and implement effective security countermeasures.

  • Conduct risk assessments, prioritize vulnerabilities, and recommend tailored remediation strategies.

  • Analyze vulnerability data, communicate risk impacts, and provide recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Continuously improve vulnerability management frameworks and ensure alignment with evolving industry best practices.

  • Develop and update security standards and templates to meet compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist in data collection and documentation efforts to support audits and inspections.

  • Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to optimize existing security solutions, including ACAS and HBSS platforms.

  • Perform regular patch management, system hardening (STIGs), and ensure security configurations are current.

  • Conduct research and testing to implement security enhancements that safeguard data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 7+ years of professional experience in information security roles

  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and Radius

  • Proficiency in virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)

  • Hands-on experience with Trellix ENS (formerly McAfee Endpoint Security) and Tenable Security Center (ACAS)

  • Familiarity with SQL Server administration and security best practices

  • Knowledge of applying DoD STIGs and patching processes

  • IAT Level II Certification (per DoD 8140.01 Cyberspace Workforce Management directive)

  • Active Secret Security Clearance required

Location: Onsite
Work Schedule: 40 hours/week
Travel: Less than 10%

Salary Range: $75,067 – $101,200 (based on experience, location, and contract terms)
