Education
Job Description:
- Doctorate: Completion of an accredited pharmacy program.
Certification & Licensure:
- PHARMD: Licensed Pharmacist
- OR PHARMR: Registered Pharmacist
- ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required for those responding to emergency codes)
Typical Experience:
- Minimum of one year of recent, relevant experience.
Skills & Knowledge

Understanding of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and generic vs. trade drug names.

Familiarity with various pharmacy practice settings, including narcotic handling procedures.

Proficiency in recognizing and utilizing pharmaceutical and medical terms, abbreviations, and symbols in prescribing, dispensing, and record-keeping.

Working knowledge of legal requirements and accreditation standards, including regulations from:
- National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP)
- The Joint Commission (TJC)
- Title XXII regulations
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
- Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
- United States Pharmacopeia (USP)

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex and sensitive information to diverse audiences, including non-medical individuals.

Effective time management and organizational skills, ensuring the ability to prioritize assignments and adhere to standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.

- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Pharmaceutical technology tools

- EPIC software
