The Inpatient Medical Coder will ensure accurate and compliant ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG code assignments for inpatient records. Responsibilities of an Inpatient Medical Coder

Review and code all inpatient records using correct ICD-10-CM/PCS and DRG classifications.

Abstract and input all required demographic and clinical data.

Create appropriate, compliant, and non-leading physician queries.

Ensure quality and productivity meet or exceed client and internal expectations.

Follow compliance standards including HIPAA and ISO 27001:2013 guidelines.
Qualifications for the Inpatient Medical Coder Role

Active certification through AHIMA or AAPC (CCS, CPC, or CIC).

Minimum 2 years of inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility.

Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS and strong understanding of DRG assignments.
